Student answer (Band 4.0)

Actually Both are okay. But i like those peoples that love to make their social life seprate from work because u will better focus on your work. Social life mostly just for distraction and u can enjoy with them . Doing work with collegues not good option but than think me.. If we go to thought of other people that love work with colleagues the reason behind it is sometimes colleagues help u. If something is new You will take help from senior or expert.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The student attempts to address both views on socialising with colleagues and offers a personal opinion, but the response is severely underdeveloped and falls well short of the 250-word minimum requirement at only 85 words. Because of this extreme under-length, the ideas cannot be fully extended or supported as required by the higher band descriptors. The response mentions that work should be kept separate and briefly touches upon the alternative view that colleagues can offer help, but these points are presented in a very rudimentary manner. As the task is only minimally satisfied due to the word count constraint, it aligns closely with Band 4.0 descriptors for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks standard paragraphing, appearing as a single disjointed block of text that makes it difficult to follow a clear logical progression. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic, relying on conversational transitions such as 'Actually' and 'If'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly phrases like 'than think me.. If we go to thought of other people', which disrupt the flow of communication. There is a lack of overall structural organisation, which places this text firmly within the Band 4.0 descriptor range where information and ideas are not arranged coherently enough to ensure smooth progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The lexical range is extremely basic and repetitive, utilizing everyday words such as 'good', 'work', 'social', and 'help'. There are notable spelling and word choice errors, including 'seprate' instead of separate and 'collegues' instead of colleagues. The student struggles with natural collocations and lacks the vocabulary needed to express more abstract concepts regarding work-life balance. Because the vocabulary is simple and repetitive, and errors occasionally strain the reader's understanding, the response matches the Band 4.0 criteria for Lexical Resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mainly of simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex conditional structures, such as 'If we go to thought of other people that love work with colleagues the reason behind it is sometimes colleagues help u.' Punctuation and capitalization are frequently neglected, with lowercase 'i' used for the pronoun 'I' and informal abbreviations like 'u' instead of 'you'. Grammatical errors are highly frequent throughout the short text, often distorting meaning and causing difficulty for the reader, which corresponds to a Band 4.0 score.
