Student answer (Band 6.0)
Work-life balance plays a significant role in everyone's life to live a good and happy life. It is argued that whether people spend some time with their work colleagues after work and on weekends or not. This essay will discuss both the view points as well as my personal perspective on work life balance is also an important aspect.
Starting with why people socialize with work colleagues during evenings and weekends, the first and foremost reason is they want to stronger their bond. If they are spending time going on dinners, playing some activites or doing other things with their colleagues then they can understand each other better and make a good bond with each other. It will help them to cooperate with each other on work easily and increase the productivity of their work. For example, people in Korea prefer to go on team dinners on evenings as well as on weekends to appreciate each other and want to stronger their relationship.
Some people and I believe that it is an important to keep working life completely separate from social life. Having a work-life balance is crucial for everyone to maintain their personal life. The reason behind is not only they can spend that time with loved one's such as family, relatives and friends, but also, they can do whatever they want to feel stress free from work. As a result, they can balance their personal life from work and live a stress free and better lifestyle.
To conclude, I think that people have some personal free time to spend from work because its a need for evreyone to maintain a balance in their life. Although some individuals want to socialize with their colleagues to make a good relationship with them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on socialising with colleagues and providing a personal opinion. The introduction outlines the essay structure, although the thesis statement is slightly repetitive and unclear regarding your own stance initially. In the body paragraphs, you present relevant ideas such as bonding for productivity and the counter-argument of keeping work and private life separate. However, the ideas could be extended further with more developed explanations. For instance, the example about Korea is relevant, but the conclusion lacks a strong final synthesis of your viewpoint. Overall, the response meets the core requirements of Task Achievement, aligning well with the descriptors for Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into four paragraphs with a clear overall arrangement. Cohesive devices are used to guide the reader, such as 'Starting with why people socialize' and 'To conclude'. However, some of the referencing and logical transitions are a bit mechanical or faulty, such as 'The reason behind is not only they can spend that time...' which creates minor disjointedness. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate introduction, body points, and conclusion. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, occasional errors in cohesion keep this criterion at a Band 6.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You attempt some less common phrases like 'work-life balance', 'significant role', and 'stress-free', but there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'stronger their bond' instead of 'strengthen their bond' and 'on evenings' instead of 'in the evenings'. Furthermore, word formation errors like 'every' spelled as 'evreyone' appear in the conclusion. These lexical slips and occasional awkward expressions place this criterion firmly within Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'If they are spending time going on dinners... then they can understand each other better'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, including 'It is argued that whether people spend...' and 'it is an important to keep working life'. Punctuation and article usage also show occasional lapses. While these errors do not impede communication, they restrict the grammar score. The control of grammar aligns with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
