Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe it is a good way to socialise with work colleagues during evenings and weekends. Some people think it is essential to keep social life private from working life.
On the one hand, number of people spend their evenings and weekends with colleagues and friends. Because where public spend most of the time from morning 8 am to 5 pm with workers. They share with each other including thoughs, ideas, sorrows, joy and happiness, even family related issues. Because some people think it a good way. In this way we can relax our mind.
On the other hand, some people do not like to share their private family related issues, or anything about their life. They spend time with co-workers but do not tell anything including personal issues, family issues, work related issue. Another thing is some people do not rely on anyone. They enjoy their own company. For instance someone who wants to give competitive exam for higher studies. But they decided not to tell anyone until result came. As a result, they achieve success.
In my opinion, I think it is very important to keep your life private from working life. Because people do not want you to be happy and no one is happy for you. Whatever someone is preparing for exam, going abroad, wants to join other company. I believe if we keep things private we will be happy and relax in our life.
In conclusion, It depends on individuals. If someone does not want to socialise their life with
colleagues, it is his prespective. If someone who wants to socialise with his or her family with colleagues it is also a good idea.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on socialising with colleagues and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the arguments regarding privacy and avoiding negative influences are mentioned multiple times without deep elaboration. The reasoning relies heavily on generalised statements, such as 'because people do not want you to be happy,' rather than fully explored examples. While the position is clear throughout, the support for the arguments remains underdeveloped, placing the response firmly in Band 5.5 to 6.0 territory. Because the ideas are relevant and all prompts are addressed, it fulfills the basic requirements for a Band 6 score.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into logical paragraphs with a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, repetitive sentence openings, and weak cohesive devices. Phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but sentences within paragraphs often feel disjointed—for example, 'Because where public spend most of the time...' creates a fragmented flow. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is often faulty and mechanical. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronoun usage ('Because some people think it a good way'). Overall, the arrangement provides a coherent overall structure, but the cohesive errors align with a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching on everyday work and social concepts like 'colleagues,' 'socialise,' and 'private family related issues.' However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'share their private family related issues' and 'competitive exam.' Less common lexical items are attempted, but often with errors that cause some difficulty or awkwardness for the reader, such as 'prespective' and using 'relax' as an adjective. Spelling errors ('thoughs' instead of thoughts) and imprecise phrasing place this vocabulary profile at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The text displays a mix of simple and attempted complex sentence forms, but control is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as sentence fragments ('Because where public spend most of the time...'), missing subjects or verbs, and awkward clause structures ('Whatever someone is preparing for exam...'). Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent. While simple sentences are generally understood, attempts at more complex structures frequently result in faulty grammar that requires the reader to decode the meaning. These frequent errors restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
