Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that spending time with colleagues during evenings and weekends is benefical ,whereas others believe that personal and professional live should be kept completely separate.

First and foremost, spending time with the teammates after work, it will help to build the strong relationship with each others.People can understand more deeply and they can learn new things from each other as well.. For example, In south Asia most of the work colleagues prefer to spend time after work to share the personal and professional things, they also guide each other right directions. As a result, they just work like a family whcih has a good impact on the company too.

There are also bunch of reasons why socialise more, work colleagues spend 10 to 12 hour a day on work , they are more comforatable with colleagues that why they prefre to go out side with them such as movie, dinner and so on.

However ,there are some drwaback when people prefer to socialise with work colleagues .They will mix there both life , all people have their screat which they cannot talk about with all people if they spend more time with only teammates they will judge that person. Most of the pleaces where people share all things they are not able to get success because other people take the advanatge. They cannot give the full time to family and other friends. That will hold the nagtive impact on personal and professional life.

In conclusion, socialising with work colleagues can help people build strong relationships and support each other. However, I believe it is also important to maintain a balance between professional and personal life so that people can give enough time to their families and friends.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on socialising with colleagues and providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant and supported with explanations and examples, such as the mention of work culture in South Asia. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or expressed with generalisations, and the reasoning regarding coworkers taking advantage lacks depth. Overall, the prompt requirements are adequately fulfilled, earning a Band 6.0 according to the descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with logical paragraphing, separating the introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to link ideas, such as 'First and foremost', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. Nonetheless, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like 'There are also bunch of reasons why socialise more'. Paragraphing is functional, but transitional flow could be smoother to reach a higher band.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'benefical' (misspelled), 'colleagues', and 'professional'. There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including 'live' instead of 'lives', 'drwaback' instead of 'drawback', 'screat' instead of 'secrets', and 'nagtive' instead of 'negative'. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is not impeded, and the range is minimally sufficient to convey the intended meaning, placing it at a Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is inconsistent. There are several run-on sentences and structural errors, such as 'spending time with the teammates after work, it will help to build the strong relationship' (unnecessary comma splice and pronoun duplication) and 'that why they prefre'. Punctuation errors are also present throughout the text. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from achieving a Band 6.0.
