Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on socialising with colleagues and providing a personal opinion. However, the ideas are often repetitive and lack clear, logical development. For example, the sentence 'Some people doing work with team member du to share different ideas and working skills' introduces a relevant point, but it is not sufficiently expanded with concrete examples or fully realised arguments. The position is stated, particularly in the conclusion ('I believe that so good idea to socialise with work colleagues'), but the progression of ideas is hindered by repetitive phrasing and underdeveloped reasoning. Consequently, the response aligns best with a Band 5 descriptor, where the task is addressed, but ideas remain limited and inadequately developed throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The essay is divided into distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing some basic organisation. However, there is a clear lack of overall logical progression. Cohesive devices are often used inaccurately or mechanically, such as starting multiple sentences with 'When do working alone' or repetitive use of 'in addition'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty, and referencing is often unclear, leaving the reader struggling to follow the flow of arguments. Transitions between sentences and paragraphs feel disjointed rather than naturally linked. These characteristics place the essay firmly at Band 4, as information and ideas are not arranged in a sufficiently coherent or logical manner.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The student uses a very basic and repetitive vocabulary throughout the response, relying heavily on fundamental terms like 'work', 'colleagues', 'task', and 'people'. There are frequent word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'form' instead of 'from', 'quckily', 'adittion', and 'strat'. Less common lexical items are attempted but generally misused or distorted, preventing any precision or flexibility in expression. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic topic, the numerous inaccuracies and the lack of a sufficient range place this response at a Band 4 level, where basic vocabulary and frequent errors strain the reader's understanding.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, with the majority of attempts at complex sentences resulting in severe structural faults and ungrammatical phrasing. Examples include 'People improved working during the they work with team' and 'When do working alone then they do not manage time'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are frequently neglected, with missing verbs, incorrect verb forms, and confusing clause structures appearing in almost every sentence. These frequent, dense errors constantly impede communication and cause significant difficulty for the reader. Therefore, the grammar falls into the Band 4 category, reflecting frequent errors that distort meaning and a very limited command of sentence structures.
