Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary era, socialisation with colleagues has emerged a profoundly contentious issue, sparking considerable debate among individuals and policymakers alike. while a segment of society believes that socialising with colleagues during evenings and weekends helps in making strong bond with colleagues, others oppose this notion. However, I strongly believe that spending time with your fellows is always beneficial.
Spending time with your colleagues during evenings and on weekends makes the workplace less toxic. You can discuss different ideas and issues in a comfort zone. All of the participants are equal when enjoying a weekend. The hectic environment of the office makes everybody rude and rigid. Spending time outside the office helps releasing that tension between bosses and subordinates.
On the other hand, socialising have many disadvantages as well. some people believe that weekends and evenings should be spent with their families. when you have stayed all the time with your colleagues at office, you should spend the evening with your family at home. work and life balance is not maintained when u give all your time to your colleagues. It also leads to grouping among colleagues which is harmful for office environment.
In conclusion, although some people believe that socialising with colleagues is considered harmfull in terms of work life balance but it has great impact on bond between colleagues. Also, It is very beneficial for mental health of workers. it is equally important for the company and employers because a .healthy environment makes productivity of empolyees good.. So, such activities should be promoted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the benefits and drawbacks of socialising with colleagues, and a clear personal position is presented in the introduction and conclusion. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the point regarding office grouping in the third paragraph is stated rather briefly without extended elaboration or a concrete supporting example. Similarly, the opening sentence uses an overly broad generalisation about contemporary socialisation being a contentious issue for policymakers, which detracts slightly from the direct focus on the prompt. To reach a higher level, all main points should be extended with robust explanations and specific real-world examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph-by-paragraph structure that follows a logical progression from introduction to arguments for, arguments against, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as "On the other hand" and "In conclusion," though referencing is occasionally faulty, as seen in the phrase "such activities" which relies heavily on the broader context rather than precise preceding links. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct thematic units, but the mechanical nature of some transitions prevents a smoother flow of ideas throughout the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as "contemporary era," "contentious issue," and "hectic environment." However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations that reflect a lack of precision, such as "making strong bond" instead of "building strong bonds," "helps releasing" instead of "helps release," and the misspelling of "harmfull" and "empolyees." Word choice errors also appear in phrases like "productivity of employees good." These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they prevent the vocabulary score from rising into the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures such as conditional and dependent clauses ("while a segment of society believes that..."). There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing capitalisation at the start of sentences ("while a segment," "when you have stayed"), article omissions, and informal lowercase usage of the pronoun "u." Furthermore, prepositional patterns inside phrases require tighter control, such as "bond between colleagues." These errors occur alongside correct structures and rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the writer's argument without severe difficulty.
