Student answer (Band 5.5)

Irrefutably, individuals have to maintain a balance between office life and social life. Few people consider that it is good thing to spend some free time with work friends while other believe that keep social life separate from the other. I assert with the former view, however, I will shed some light on both the notions in the upcoming paragraphs.

On the one hand, in the leisure time it's a good idea to socialise with work colleagues that is what some people think. Firstly, spend some weekends and evenings with co-employees is make a stronger bond between them. It is helpful at work place because all the colleagues works as a team and never conflict with others on any topics. Also, with some socialise time you can relax your mind from the workload and you can share a personal things to each others. For example, they can bring their family's to the party so they can also make some new friends.

On the other hand, few people think that keep the social life separate from the working life. So individuals can give some time to their family members as well and spend some weekends by going on a trip. Moreover, you can keep the workload separate and you can enjoy a quality time and connect with the person from the heart.

According to what I comprehand, I think that people have to spend some time with work colleagues as well so you can known them and always ready to help them in difficult time. Furthermore, by socialising with the co-worker you can increase your contacts and these will be helpful for your furture to boost your carrier.

To recapitulate, people have to know that it is very important to balance your life, they have to known thier limit as well. Office life and personal life both are important so with some time managment you can manage your weekends and plan accordingly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on socialising with work colleagues and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, which keeps the score at this level. For instance, while the writer mentions building stronger bonds and relieving stress, these points are not fully extended with deep explanation or concrete real-world examples beyond a brief mention of bringing families to a party. The position is stated, but the support lacks depth and thorough exploration across the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

There is a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the essay into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each view, a personal opinion, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is not always clear, such as the abrupt transitions between sentences and repetitive cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. While logical organisation is present, the progression from one idea to the next lacks smoothness, preventing the response from reaching a higher band.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary is minimally adequate for the task, providing enough range to communicate the basic arguments about work and social life. The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'recapitulate' and 'comprehand', but these attempts are accompanied by noticeable errors in word form and choice, including spelling slips like 'thier' and 'furture'. Other phrases like 'known them' instead of 'know them' and 'boost your carrier' instead of 'career' demonstrate that while the meaning is generally clear, lexical control is inconsistent and causes some difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside some attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, tenses, and agreement, such as 'spend some weekends and evenings with co-employees is make a stronger bond' and 'all the colleagues works'. Prepositions within grammatical patterns and article usage are also insecure throughout the text. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, though the underlying meaning of the sentences can still be deciphered.
