Student answer (Band 5.5)

Socializing with co-wokers during evenings and weekends has become a ongoing trend. While some people argue that its a very good idea, others believe that it is essential to have a distance between work and social life. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe socializing with friends from work could be beneficial.

The first key point to consider is privacy which people can only maintain when they keep their work and personal life separate. This is primarily because some individuals not do prefer to involve their colleagues in their family and personal space. As a result, they avoid these get togethers during evenings and weekends to protect their family from any kind of potential danger and negative exposure. For example, there are few communties which are exteremly rooted into their culture which do not allow them to expose their children and wife to the society. This demonstrates that few people want to keep their lives private and stick to closed family for having fun.

On the other hand, I also believe that spending time with peers from work could be great idea for better interpersonal relationships. To further explain, when different people are working together at one place without knowing each other could be boring and conflicting. Consequently, they will not be able to work properly and will be less productive so, it becomes important for them to hang out with each other to have a better coonection with each other and also have some fun time with each other other than working all the time. For instance, a team of employees working together

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You introduce both viewpoints and state a clear preference for socialising with colleagues, so the response is relevant to the task. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the separation argument focuses mainly on privacy and cultural concerns, while the benefits paragraph gives general claims about connection and productivity without a complete supporting example. The final example begins, “For instance, a team of employees working together,” but is unfinished, and there is no concluding paragraph to reinforce your opinion or summarise the discussion. To strengthen the response, explain each view with a specific, fully developed example and make your position clear again at the end.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “For example.” This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression is weakened by ideas that are not fully connected or completed. The final example stops mid-sentence, and the essay ends without a conclusion, leaving the argument unfinished. Some links are also repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “each other” in the benefits paragraph. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, develop it in a clear sequence, and add a concluding paragraph that brings the views and your opinion together.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “privacy,” “personal space,” “interpersonal relationships,” and “productive,” which allows you to discuss both sides of the issue. There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems that reduce precision, such as “co-wokers,” “communties,” “exteremly,” and “coonection.” Some expressions are awkward or imprecise, including “closed family” and “negative exposure,” and “get togethers” is less suitable in this context than a more formal alternative. Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and avoid repeating general phrases such as “have some fun time.” More precise vocabulary will make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “While some people argue…” and a reason clause with “because.” However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms are frequent enough to make some passages difficult to follow. For example, “some individuals not do prefer” has an incorrect word order, and “when different people are working together at one place without knowing each other could be boring” lacks a clear grammatical structure. The sentence beginning “For instance” is also incomplete. Review subject–verb structure, articles, and sentence boundaries, and check each sentence for a complete main clause. Shorter, accurately formed sentences would improve clarity while you build control of complex forms.
