Student answer (Band 5.0)

The advantage of having private life is one can enjoy their personal space. No worries of taking the work calls post office hours. Avoid stressful life. Avoid bothering about how you are dressed up. Plenty of time to spend with family and loved ones.

Care for your pets and pets are kind of refreshment.

The disadvantages would be you might miss to build some professional bond that might help in future. We might get some ideas for innovation that can lead to professional growth.

Suppose if I agree to socialize with work colleagues during evenings and weekends then I could not have the fun with my kids at park on weekends. I could never come out of the toxic work environment.

There is always a kind of competent atmosphere with work colleagues that disturbs our peace. Earlier we used to hear a familiar proverb that work is worship but now people are making work is WorldShip. Though money is important, but it cannot bring happiness in our lives. I have family that is made up of lovely three kids and my husband and I believe they are my world and worship. For me, I owe responsibilities towards my innocent kids to shape their future by guiding them on right path and teaching them the most beautiful moral lessons about the life. I do not have enough time to spend with colleagues as my kids owe me more.

Some people think that it's a good idea to socialize with work colleagues during evenings whereas others other people think it's important to keep working life completely separate from social life. I feel that people only get stress from work life and it's always better to stay away from stress to keep yourself healthy. I strongly agree with the latter view.

An example is that I have seen one of my colleague giving utmost importance to work and ended up in losing the bond with the kids. Her kids never listen to her and ignore her as most of times when she was involved in work time her kids ended up in having screen time and she is feeling lot of difficulty to bring them back on track.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear personal preference for keeping work and social life separate, especially when you say, “I strongly agree with the latter view,” and you support it with family responsibilities and an example involving a colleague. You also mention a benefit of socialising with colleagues: it may build professional bonds and generate ideas. However, the discussion of the opposing view is brief, and several points about separation—such as stress, family time and children—repeat similar concerns rather than being fully developed. The response therefore addresses the task only partially: explain both perspectives more evenly, develop the professional benefits with a specific example, and make your reasoning for your own position more focused. The length requirement is met; 10 words copied from the prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has some paragraphing, and the reader can identify your main preference and follow the broad contrast between professional contact and family life. However, ideas are not arranged in a consistently logical progression. The opening lists short points (“Avoid stressful life” and “Plenty of time to spend with family”) without connecting them, while the later paragraph repeats the task question before restating your opinion. Connections between ideas are also sometimes unclear, particularly in the proverb sentence and the shift from workplace competition to family responsibilities. To improve, use a clear sequence—introduce both views, develop each in its own paragraph, then conclude—and use linking phrases to show how each example supports the point rather than relying on repeated statements.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “professional bond,” “toxic work environment,” “innovation,” and “responsibilities,” and your meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, which can make the reader pause. For example, “work is WorldShip” appears to be an unintended or unclear phrase, and “competent atmosphere” does not express the intended idea of competition. “Refreshment” is also an unnatural choice for describing pets as a source of comfort. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating broad terms such as “work,” “stress” and “kids.” Proofread for word forms and choose expressions that convey your meaning directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “Suppose if I agree to socialize…,” but the range is limited and complex constructions are often faulty. Several sentences are fragments, such as “Avoid stressful life” and “Care for your pets,” rather than complete clauses. Other examples include “The advantage … is one can enjoy,” which needs a clearer grammatical link, and “I have family that is made up of lovely three kids,” where the article and sentence structure are problematic. There are also errors in agreement and tense, as in “one of my colleague giving” and “she is feeling lot of difficulty.” Build complete sentences, check articles and plural forms, and simplify longer sentences until their grammar is controlled.
