Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowdays, people have different opinion about whether colleague should socialize after the working houre or personal and professional lives should be sepreated. Therefore, some people believe that after the working hours, people should spend their time with their colleagues because it will help to strength their bonds, whereas others believe that personal and professional live sholud have boundaries. In my opinion, both points has their own advantages, but i think people should spend their time with families on weekends.

On the on hand, there are a lot of benefits of pass the time with colleagues during evening and weekends. To begin with, It allows employees to develop strong bond and understand each other better. As a result, they will communicate more effiectively and work in team. For example, when the employees have a dinner or do some social acitivities together then they become more friendly. Thank to this, workmate may do not feel hagitate to speck with their coworker to ask any help.

On the other hand, maintain a clear boundary between worklife and personal life also have some benifits. Firstly, people become relax. To explain, people get tried because of workload at the work, and if they also partcipate after working hours dinner or any other activites then they may not able to have relax. Consenqently, they get tried and they may feel less energy for the next day and may not able to perfome at their work. Moreover, if they spend time outside then it may create conflict in their family, because of spending less time with family.

In conclusion, although passing time with colleague during eveninhgs and weekends allow to develop strong bond, i think employees should sperate their personal life and should spend more time with family.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear personal position: you recognise the benefits of socialising with colleagues, but conclude that employees should keep personal time for family. The supporting points are relevant, including stronger workplace communication and the risk of tiredness or family conflict. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The benefits of socialising are explained through improved teamwork, while the case for separation is mostly asserted; for example, “people become relax” needs a clearer explanation of how private time supports wellbeing. Your opinion also shifts slightly: the introduction says both views have advantages, but the conclusion more firmly recommends separation. Make your position consistent and extend each main reason with a specific example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the other hand,” “Firstly,” and “Moreover” help distinguish the arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, several links feel mechanical, and some references are unclear. In “Thank to this,” the reader must infer what “this” refers to, while “To explain” and “Consequently” do not always connect ideas smoothly. Improve cohesion by linking each explanation directly to its claim and varying transitions. The conclusion also repeats the main position rather than drawing together the two arguments.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “colleagues,” “boundaries,” “workload,” “conflict,” and “communicate more effectively.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response harder to read, such as “sepreated,” “effiectively,” “hagitate,” and “perfome.” Some combinations are also unnatural: “pass the time with colleagues” and “develop strong bond” would be more idiomatic as “spend time with colleagues” and “build strong bonds.” Repeated use of “people,” “time,” and “work” also limits precision. Build a bank of accurate collocations for workplace relationships and work-life balance, and proofread spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause with “whereas” and conditional reasoning with “if.” These structures help express relationships between ideas, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “both points has” should be “both points have,” and “they may not able to have relax” needs a modal construction such as “they may not be able to relax.” In “worklife and personal life also have,” the subject-verb relationship is unclear because the subject is “maintaining a clear boundary.” Review agreement, infinitive patterns, and modal verbs, then check each sentence for a complete, correctly formed clause.
