Student answer (Band 5.5)

Socialization is a key to connect with others and share feelings and emmotions. While some experts believe that being socialise with workplace colleagues has great advantages and it can be possible by sitting with them after work and on weekends, others argue that complete separation of work life and personal life is highly beneficial. This essay will discuss both perspectives and I believe that to overcome stress, working life should be completely separated.

On the one hand, A major benefit of spending time with collegues after work is that it aware workers about upcoming events of the company. To explain, sharing topics of workplace give chance to exchange the informaton about current and upcoming tasks of the firm. To conclude, although meeting with colleagues to be socialise is provide idea of upcoming events and build stronger team up, I believe that it could be exggerated for people to think about work after hours. Therefore, work life and private life should be different to live stress free.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state a clear preference for separating work and private life, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The point that informal conversations can share information about company events and strengthen teamwork is relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the first view is supported mainly by workplace information-sharing, while the case for separation is asserted rather than explained in full. The second body paragraph also ends abruptly at “as they think about o,” leaving its reasoning incomplete. To strengthen the response, explain more fully how socialising outside work can benefit relationships, and develop the stress argument with a specific example. Keep your position clear while giving both perspectives fuller support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps readers follow the intended organisation. However, progression is weakened by the unfinished second body paragraph, which breaks the development of the argument. Some links are also mechanical or unclear: “To explain” does not lead to a precise explanation, and “As a result” introduces a conclusion that is not fully established. Use clearer links between each claim and its supporting detail, and ensure each paragraph reaches a complete point before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “workplace colleagues,” “teamwork,” “stress,” and “private life,” so the main subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, word-form, spelling, and collocation errors make parts difficult to read. Examples include “being socialise,” “it aware workers,” “share topics,” and “strong relation”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “emmotions,” “collegues,” and “informaton” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for this topic, such as “socialise with colleagues,” “keep colleagues informed,” and “build stronger working relationships,” and check spelling during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While some experts believe…” and a conditional structure with “If…”. However, control is inconsistent, and faulty sentence construction sometimes makes meaning difficult to follow. For example, “being socialise with workplace colleagues has great advantages” has an incorrect verb form, while “it aware workers” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. In “although meeting with colleagues to be socialise is provide idea,” several parts of the clause do not fit together grammatically. The second body paragraph also ends mid-sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and verb forms, then proofread each sentence to ensure it is complete and its clauses connect correctly.
