Student answer (Band 5.5)

Individuals argue that it would be better thing to be friendly with team members after work hours or on holidays while others believe in importance of keeping work seperate from personal life. There are pros and cons of this senario. In my opinion, It is a best thing to connect with work buddies. It will elobrate further in details.

One the one hand, if you connect with your workmates after job hour , it will give you a friend circle especially if you are new in city or may be your job is completely on a new location. people get a chance to get to gether with each other and get to know about different culture, food and thier life style. For instant , they can go for trip with family in that case kids also involve with each other and enjoy each others company.

One the other hand, they should focus on work-life balance. Some may argue that we should always keep aside work after coming home. They are also true because not all person are same in thier mindset. They may use you by being friendly around you do rubbish in office politics. other reason is that people need thier private space and mental peace. Sometimes with work pressure they get trauma . If all workers are together they always talk about office work. In that case it would be great to do not get attached much with office mates.

In conclusion, Although, mingle with coworker gives you friendship and fun , it affects your work and family life. I aggree with being friendly with peers because it gives you better life than just living sendetary life style and at the end you would feel lonely.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear preference for socialising with colleagues, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The benefits are relevant: you mention making friends in a new city and sharing cultural experiences, while the opposing view includes privacy, office politics and work pressure. This covers the task, but some points are not fully explained. For example, the claim that colleagues may “use you” through office politics is unclear, and the effect of socialising on family life is asserted rather than illustrated. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make your final position more consistent by acknowledging that socialising can be beneficial when boundaries are respected.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “One the one hand,” “One the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening says there are “pros and cons” but does not preview them, and “In that case” is used where the relationship between ideas needs more explanation. The conclusion also shifts from saying socialising affects family life to supporting it as a way to avoid loneliness. Improve progression by linking each example directly to the point it supports, and use clearer references so readers can easily identify what “they” and “that case” refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “work-life balance,” “private space,” “mental peace,” and “office politics.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “sedentary lifestyle,” although this is not a natural fit for the intended contrast with loneliness. Noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “seperate,” “senario,” “elobrate,” and “thier.” Some phrases are also awkward, such as “friend circle” and “get to gether.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for workplace relationships. More precise wording would make your ideas easier to understand and help you express distinctions such as friendly contact versus excessive work-related socialising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if you connect with your workmates… it will give you a friend circle” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, articles, agreement and punctuation. For example, “It is a best thing” has an article error, while “not all person are same” has problems with number and article use. The opening also runs several clauses together without adequate sentence boundaries. Practise forming accurate complex sentences and check articles, singular/plural agreement and punctuation. Greater control of these patterns would make the argument clearer without limiting your range of structures.
