Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this fast paced world, numerous people think socializing with co-workers is a great idea, whereas people on other end thinks, private life should be remain private life and should not be mixed with working life. In my opnion, both thoughts have equal importance and have benefits in their own ways. I will be explaining my views in upcoming paragraphs.

On one side, being more social with colleagues can be a game changer element, as meeting co-workers outside the office, without any work pressure, let people talk about their problems and thoughts. As a result of that workers come for close to each other, which helps to make special bonds between them, moreover it helps to improve teamwork qualities and let people support each other at busy days especially. Thus, It not only leads to make their day more productive, but also boost their confidence.

On the other side, creating a space between personal and working life is also beneficial, becuase in this fast-paced world people rarely have time for their family, they are not able to go out with them. Moreover, some of them consider to leave work environment at office only, if they meet their co-workers outside on dinners or parties, they will be doing office talks only. As a result of it, individuals will rarely have time for family, which would lead to family issues some times.

To conclude, both views have equal weightage, for being more productive people have to have good bond with colleagues, but on other side family cannot also be ignored as they are most prior thing in one's life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both perspectives and give a clear overall position: you consider the views equally important, while concluding that colleagues and family both deserve attention. The first body paragraph explains how socialising can build bonds, improve teamwork and provide support; the second gives a relevant reason for keeping work separate, namely protecting time with family. These points address the task, but some are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between socialising and greater productivity or confidence is not illustrated, and the concern that colleagues will talk only about work could be developed with a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each point more fully and make your own preferred balance clearer rather than relying mainly on equal importance.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from the benefits of workplace friendships to the value of protecting family time is easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “On one side,” “On the other side,” and “To conclude,” which helps readers identify the stages of the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some ability to organise ideas clearly. However, several links feel mechanical, and long chains joined by “moreover,” “as a result,” and “which” make relationships between points less precise. For a stronger progression, vary linking methods and divide or reshape sentences so each paragraph develops one main idea in a more deliberate sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to discuss the topic, including relevant expressions such as “work pressure,” “teamwork,” “personal and working life,” and “family issues.” There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “a game changer element,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural and reduce precision. Examples include “come for close to each other,” “equal weightage,” and “most prior thing”; spelling errors such as “opnion” and “becuase” also affect the impression of control. The intended meaning is generally recoverable, but the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people” and “life.” Build accuracy by learning natural collocations and checking spelling, word forms, and phrasing in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “because,” and “which,” and the main ideas remain understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “people on other end thinks” has an agreement problem, “should be remain private life” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “meeting co-workers … let people talk” does not maintain subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “As a result of that workers…” also needs clearer punctuation and structure. These errors do not usually prevent communication, but they limit accuracy and make some sentences awkward. Practise checking each clause for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, while keeping complex sentences manageable.
