Student answer (Band 6.0)
It has become a debateable senario that people should keep their social life separate from their official life. Some people believe that they shold meet on weekends and in the evening and others oppose this belief. This essay will discuss both views and explain why I support the lateral notion.
To begin with the idea of spending time with colleagues after working hours. They can share their thought on the ongoing projects and problems. While discussion, they will get different views and ideas which help them to take a good decision. By this, they will nurish their relation and trust on each other. Furthermore, they can plan the what to do tomorow. Because when they plan a day before, their work life will go smooth through out of the day. They do not need to think about the tasks if they have plannings in their mind before they come to work.
Shifting toward the opposite opinion. People should keep their social life separate from colleagues as the matter of privacy. To explain with, as much as time they will spend together, they will discuss their personal joys and sorrows with each other and sometime it will become a topic of gossips at workplace. Therefore, it can disclose their privacy. Furthermore, it can disturb the balance between social and official life. If they spend time after work, they will not get enough time to spend with friends and family members which may create conflicts among them and leave an impact on their bondings.
To conclude, although spending time with coworker can help to find solutions on ongoing problems and ideas about new projects, while it may become a reason of conflicts in their social life. I personally believe that there must be a line between official and social life and people should maintain this gap wisely.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and make your own position clear: you support keeping work and social life separate. The discussion of colleagues sharing project ideas and building trust is relevant, as is your concern that personal information may become workplace gossip or reduce time with family. This meets the task well, but the two sides are not developed equally. The benefits of socialising are mostly asserted—for example, that planning together makes the workday smoother—without a specific illustration or explanation of when this would be useful. Your conclusion restates the position, but could explain more directly why privacy and family relationships outweigh the workplace benefits. More developed support would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with,” “Shifting toward the opposite opinion,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion, and the main ideas generally progress logically. However, some linking is mechanical, and a few connections are unclear. The opening fragment, “To begin with the idea of spending time with colleagues after working hours,” does not form a complete sentence, while “Because when they plan a day before” is awkwardly attached to the preceding point. The conclusion’s “although … while” construction also makes the relationship between the ideas difficult to follow. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each explanation more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “ongoing projects,” “privacy,” “gossips at workplace,” and “balance between social and official life.” There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as “bondings” and “lateral notion,” but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, and spelling errors are noticeable: “debateable senario,” “shold,” “nurish,” and “tomorow.” Phrases such as “trust on each other,” “plan the what to do,” and “solutions on ongoing problems” also show weak collocation or word choice. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships for workplace and social relationships.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional sentences (“If they spend time after work…”) and a concession in the conclusion. The central meaning is usually understandable, but some sentence structures and grammatical patterns are faulty. For example, “To begin with the idea…” is a fragment, and “Because when they plan a day before” is not correctly integrated into the sentence. In “They can plan the what to do tomorrow,” the clause structure is incomplete; “as much as time they will spend” also uses an incorrect comparative pattern. The final sentence combines “although” and “while” in a way that disrupts the grammar. Practise complete clauses, subordinate conjunctions, and accurate sentence patterns, then proofread punctuation and articles.
