Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the chart and provided relevant comparisons. You covered all age groups and gender categories. However, there are some inaccuracies in data reporting; for instance, you mention the UK instead of Australia, and your description of the trends (e.g., 'dramatic growth' and 'plummeted') is slightly exaggerated given the actual percentage changes. To reach a higher band, ensure that your data interpretation is precise and that you strictly adhere to the information provided in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'whereas' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the progression of ideas could be smoother. Ensure that each paragraph focuses on a clear theme to improve the overall structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'illustrates', and 'accounted for'. However, there are some word choice errors, such as 'ageing between' instead of 'aged between' and 'quantity of Male' instead of 'percentage of men'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoid repeating the same phrases. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the proportion of Female are') and incorrect preposition usage ('in the age of 25 to 64'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and phrasing errors throughout the text. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of your writing.
