Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to summarise the data but fails to clearly identify the main features or trends. The description of the age groups is confusing, using vague terms like 'third forth and fifth group' rather than specific age ranges. The comparison between genders is present but lacks precision, often relying on repetitive and unclear phrasing. The report lacks a clear overview, which is essential for Task 1. Furthermore, the inclusion of external information about 'gymnastics and calisthenics' is inappropriate as this information is not provided in the chart. To improve, focus on accurately reporting the data points and grouping them logically by age range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and often repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'in the first second and in the last group'. The referencing is unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the age groups. The sentences are often disjointed, and the lack of transition words between the description of the male and female data makes the text feel mechanical. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'ratio of women is almost same' and 'percentage of first group is much higher' are basic and lack the precision required for academic writing. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'daily physical movements' instead of 'regular physical activity' and 'reduce' instead of 'decreases'. The student struggles to use a range of vocabulary to describe trends, relying on simple descriptors. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise terminology for describing data, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'a significant proportion'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('the female having the similar numbers'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence structures ('that's tell that the age period... participates in more activities'). The punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. While there is an attempt at complex sentence structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage.
