The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar graph illustrates the proportion of different age groups of males and females in Australia who did consistent physical activity in 2010.

Overall, men in the 15 to 24 age group had the highest percentage, while women led in all other age groups. Women between the ages of 45 and 54 had the highest rate, whereas men aged 35 to 44 had the lowest rate. The age group of 35 to 44 showed the largest gap between males and females who exercised regularly.

Males in the youngest age group had the largest percentage of people who worked out, at 52.8%. This figure decreased significantly among those aged 25 to 34 and 35 to 44, with 42.2% and 39.5%, respectively. The proportions then increased steadily among the older age groups, namely those aged 45 to 54, 55 to 64, and 65 and over, reaching 43.1%, 45.1%, and 46.7%, respectively.

The percentage of females who engaged in regular physical activity increased gradually from 47.7% among those aged 15 to 24 to 52.5% among those aged 35 to 44. It then remained relatively stable between the 35 to 44 and 55 to 64 age groups.
