Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the bar chart and provided a clear overview. You accurately selected and reported the data for all age groups and made relevant comparisons between genders. The information is well-supported by the figures provided. To reach a higher band, ensure that the 'overview' paragraph highlights the most significant trends more explicitly, such as the consistent gap in the middle-age brackets versus the convergence at the oldest age group. Overall, you have fully addressed all parts of the task with a clear and logical approach.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs that group information effectively by age range. You use cohesive devices such as 'However,' 'Among,' and 'In the age range of' to guide the reader through the data. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different segments of the data. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases slightly more to avoid a repetitive structure at the start of each sentence. The progression of ideas is smooth and easy to follow throughout the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'age brackets,' 'physical exertion,' and 'surpass' are used effectively. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'acitivity' and 'acitivities,' which are slips rather than systematic errors. To achieve a higher score, incorporate more sophisticated collocations related to data reporting, such as 'a significant disparity' or 'a marginal difference.' Your vocabulary is adequate for the task and allows for precise communication of the trends shown in the chart.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, and the majority of your sentences are error-free. Your control over grammar is generally good, with accurate use of comparative structures. There are occasional minor errors, such as 'women across majority of the age groups' (missing 'the') and 'showed similar trend' (missing 'a'). These errors do not impede communication. To improve, focus on article usage and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement. Overall, your grammatical control is strong enough to support clear and accurate reporting of the data.
