Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all age groups and identifies the main features, such as the general trend of higher female participation in most age brackets compared to males. However, the data presentation is somewhat mechanical, listing figures without sufficient synthesis or grouping. The overview is also quite weak; it simply states that females participated more, which is a generalization that ignores the 15-24 age group where males were higher. To improve, you should group the data more logically (e.g., comparing the younger age groups against the older ones) and ensure the overview highlights the most significant trends rather than just a simple summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response uses basic cohesive devices like 'First and foremost', 'Moreover', and 'In addition to that'. While these help the flow, the paragraphing is ineffective; the entire body of the report is contained within a single, dense paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow. The logical progression is also slightly hindered by the repetitive structure of the sentences (e.g., 'age group of X... female had Y and male had Z'). To reach a higher band, you should organize your report into distinct paragraphs—one for the overview and one or two for the detailed comparisons—and vary your linking phrases to avoid a mechanical feel.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'highest percentage', 'number', and 'high percentage'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'methodical physical activity' (instead of 'regular physical activity') and 'among it female had a 53%' (which is grammatically unclear). To improve, try to use more sophisticated synonyms for 'percentage' (e.g., 'proportion', 'figure', 'rate') and avoid repeating the same sentence structures. Using more precise descriptive language will help you demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains several grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'age group who did methodical physical activity' (missing 'the' and 'groups'), 'People who was 65 and over it had a almost same number' (subject-verb agreement and article usage), and 'rather then' (should be 'rather than'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, as most sentences follow a simple subject-verb-object pattern. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and incorporating a variety of complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to combine related ideas.
