Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response provides a summary of the main features, but the analysis is inconsistent. While you identify some trends, the overview is inaccurate; for instance, stating that the number of women is 'the highest' is vague, and the claim that men experienced the 'greatest decrease' is not clearly supported by the data. Furthermore, the description of the data for men is confusing and contains inaccuracies regarding the figures provided. To improve, ensure that you clearly distinguish between age groups and accurately report the specific percentages shown in the chart. You should focus on selecting the most significant trends rather than listing every data point, which will help provide a more coherent summary of the information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Turning to the ramining age group for man' is awkward, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally disrupted by unclear referencing. The progression of ideas is sometimes difficult to follow because the comparisons between men and women are not clearly linked. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'chategories' and 'ramining', and some word choice issues, such as 'man are tend to not doing'. These errors occasionally hinder the clarity of your report. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', or 'remained stable'. Additionally, ensure you are using the correct forms of words (e.g., 'men' instead of 'man' when referring to the plural group). Expanding your range of descriptive verbs and nouns will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the number of woman are'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'man are tend to not doing'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading your work to correct basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
