The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The given chart demonstrates the proportion of Australian men and women across various age groups who performed daily physical activity in 2010.

Overall, it is evident that percentage of males significantly dropped and females showed a relatively stable pattern with little volatility as the age increased.

In age bracket between 15 to 24, men showed the highest percentage of 52.8 which significantly dropped to 42.2 in the age group of 25-34 while women proportion goes from 47.7% to 48.9% in the respective age groups. Between the age of 35-44, men percentage further fell down to 39.5 meanwhile women proportion rose up tp 52.5%. Male numbers showed a slight rise and reached up to 43.1% while women accounted for 53.3% of the highest proportion so far between age bracket of 45-54. Men showed a further slight increase and rose up to 45.1% while women percentage stayed relatively stable at 53% in between the ages of 55 t0 64. However, men and women proportion becomes relatively close to each other of 46.7% and 47.1% repsectively in age group of people with 65 and over.
