Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response provides a summary of the main features, but the reporting is inconsistent and occasionally inaccurate. While you identify the general trend that women participate more in physical activity, the specific data points are sometimes confusingly presented. For example, the description of the 25-34 age group is unclear, and the reference to 'middle age females' and 'adult womens' lacks precision, making it difficult for the reader to map the text to the chart. To improve, ensure that you clearly label age categories as they appear on the chart and avoid vague descriptors. You have attempted to make comparisons, but the lack of clarity in data reporting limits the effectiveness of your summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'Initially', 'Before', and 'Subsequently', which do not always logically connect the data points. The flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'At, where both the genders revealed almost a stable position', which leaves the reader unsure of the intended meaning. To improve, focus on using transition words that accurately reflect the relationship between ideas, such as 'in contrast', 'furthermore', or 'conversely', and ensure each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'interest', 'activity', and 'percentage'. There are also several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'females ratio was almost high', 'womens interest... were dramatically surged', and 'constituted to'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'a significant increase', 'a marginal decline', or 'remained stable', and pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and pluralisation (e.g., 'women' instead of 'womens').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Common issues include incorrect verb forms ('were dramatically surged'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction ('as contrast to males besides of teenagers'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, these frequent errors require the reader to re-read parts of the text to grasp the intended meaning. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your score.
