Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all age groups and makes relevant comparisons between genders. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the overall higher participation of women and the specific crossover point in the 15-24 age group. However, the overview is slightly inaccurate; you stated that women were higher in 'all age groups,' but then correctly noted that men were higher in the 15-24 category. This contradiction weakens the clarity of your summary. To improve, ensure your overview statement is precise and reflects the data accurately without internal inconsistencies. The data points are generally well-selected to support the description.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs focusing on specific age groups. You use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'In terms of,' which help the flow. However, the progression between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'For 15 to 24 there is great variation...'). The transition between the body paragraphs could be smoother to better link the data points. Overall, the structure is clear, but the use of cohesive devices could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion,' 'categories,' and 'variation.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'female of all age groups was maximum than male category' and 'men ration was 39.5%.' The word 'ration' is used incorrectly instead of 'ratio' or 'percentage.' While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision in word choice and some repetitive phrasing limit the score. Expanding your range of synonyms for 'percentage' and 'proportion' would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'percentage of female of all age groups was maximum than male category' (incorrect comparative structure) and 'women was 48.9%' (subject-verb agreement). There are also issues with articles and prepositions, such as 'in 55 to 64 age group people.' While these errors do not prevent communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct comparative forms will significantly improve your accuracy.
