Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts the task achievement score. Because the text is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to provide a full summary of the data or a comprehensive report of the main features. While you attempted an overview, the lack of development and the failure to complete the task mean that the requirements are only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure you cover all parts of the prompt, including a clear overview and detailed comparisons of the data provided in the chart, while meeting the minimum word count.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response shows some attempt at logical organization by using an introductory sentence and an overview paragraph. However, because the text is incomplete and ends abruptly, the overall progression is interrupted. Cohesive devices are used in a basic way, such as 'Overall' and 'Whereas', but the lack of a full body paragraph makes it difficult to assess your ability to manage cohesion across a complete response. To improve, ensure you structure your essay with clear paragraphs and use a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for the task, such as 'proportion', 'illustrates', and 'physical activities'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and phrasing, such as 'routine tasks' (which is vague in this context) and 'almost similar percentage'. The range of vocabulary is limited due to the brevity of the response. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'a significant majority' or 'a marginal difference', and ensure your collocations are natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains several grammatical errors, such as 'of different age group' (should be plural 'groups') and 'except 15-24 years old age category' (missing articles). The sentence structure is relatively simple, and the abrupt ending prevents the demonstration of a wider range of complex structures. While the meaning is generally clear, the errors in basic grammar and the lack of sentence variety limit the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and developing more complex sentence structures to improve your accuracy and range.
