Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the graph, such as the overall trend that women generally participate more in physical activity than men, and identifies the exception at age 65. However, the report lacks precision in data reporting. For instance, it mentions '50 percentage' without specifying the age groups, and the description of the trends is somewhat vague. The summary is present, but the lack of specific data points for the intermediate age groups makes the overview less effective. To improve, ensure that key figures are accurately cited to support the comparisons made.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised into short paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by repetitive phrasing and awkward transitions. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'at the age of' and 'doing physical activity'. The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, particularly in the second and third paragraphs, where the comparison between genders lacks clear signposting. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'mens ratio' instead of 'men's participation rate' and 'goes to down' instead of 'declines'. The repetition of basic phrases like 'doing physical activity' limits the lexical variety. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuation', 'peak', and 'trend'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('The bar present'), incorrect preposition usage ('at 2010'), and awkward sentence structures ('In instant only the youngest men doing great'). While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, they are often marred by errors in tense and word order. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of full stops and capitalisation. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
