IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The bar chart illustrates the proportion of physical activity of man and women in Australia on regular bases in 2010. Overall, it is clearly visible that in the group of more then 65 year both genders does nearly equal percentage physical activity.

for the age group of teenagers 15 to 24 years, male does physical activity 52.8% while, female does physical activity slightly lower than male which is 47.7%. However, females are more active than males for doing physical activity regularly in the age group of 25 to 34 years , the difference is 6.7%.

the similarity can be be seen in in age group of more than 35 year to 64 years in which female percentage of doing physical activity is nearly same. However, for male gender it is different, the percentage of male's who does physical activity is increasing from 39.5% to 45.1%. On the other hand female's percentage is stable between 52.5% to 53%.
