Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response provides a clear overview of the data and selects relevant features to compare. However, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly at 'Even, between ages 5'. Because the final age group (65+) is entirely omitted, the task is not fully addressed. While the initial reporting of data is accurate, the failure to complete the summary prevents the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure all data categories are covered and the conclusion is fully articulated before the end of the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized by age group, which makes the information easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'From ages 25 to 34' and 'in comparison to' are used effectively to link ideas. However, the abrupt ending disrupts the overall coherence of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the incomplete nature of the final sentence suggests a lack of planning or time management. To improve, ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and that the response reaches a natural conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, with clear and accurate use of terms like 'predominantly engaged', 'visual representation', and 'drastically'. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'percenatge' and 'invovled', and a repetition of the phrase 'regular physical activity'. While the range is sufficient to convey the main points, it lacks the sophistication required for higher bands. Using more varied synonyms for 'difference' or 'percentage' would enhance the lexical quality.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'which was 52.8% than women which were 47.7%', which is awkward phrasing. Additionally, the sentence 'Even, between ages 5' is a fragment due to the incomplete nature of the response. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the overall control of complex structures is inconsistent. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and avoiding fragmented sentences will help improve the accuracy of your writing.
