Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all age groups and makes relevant comparisons between genders. The overview identifies the main trend (females generally leading) and notes the exception in the 15-24 age group. However, there are some inaccuracies in the data reporting; for instance, the text states that the 15-24 age group shows men leading, but the data provided in the text contradicts the visual trends often associated with such charts, and the phrasing 'accelerating the females' is unclear. The summary is generally effective, but the precision of the data reporting could be improved to better reflect the chart's information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'Conversely', 'First of all', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'After that, the women have significant rise'. Paragraphing is appropriate, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to achieve a higher band. The referencing of age groups is consistent, which helps maintain clarity throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of unnatural word choice and collocation errors. Phrases like 'age fellows', 'on daily bases', and 'accelerating the females' are non-standard and impede the precision of the report. While the student attempts to use specific terminology related to data description, the lack of control over these items limits the score. A wider range of precise vocabulary related to trends and comparisons would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The females are contributed higher') and awkward phrasing ('The equal proportion is only can be seen'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, the student should focus on passive voice construction and correct preposition usage.
