IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given bar graph depicts the proportion of men and women of different age groups involved in regular physical activity of Australia in the year of 2010.

Overall, physical activity plays vital role in every humans life, as it is evident from the graph that women were more engaged in physical activity than men of every age group.

In detail, 52.8% of men were active for regular physical activity as compared to women, were 47.7% of teen age group. In the age group of 25 to 34 nearly,42.2% of men were doing regular exercise whereas 48.9% of women were active for there health. from the age group of 35 to 44 and 45 to 54 above 38% of men were doing regular cardio however, about 53% of women were doing so.

Moving towards the next age group then adults of age 55 to 64 , 45.1% of men showed there interest in exercise which were 8% lower then the allocation of women. In the last age group 46.7% men were serious for physical fitness whereas, the proportion of women were slightly higher as it was 47.15
