IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The Bar chart given below illustrates the percentage of australian males and females working out regularly belonging to different age groups in the year 2010 and percentage of women working out in each age group is more than that of men. It reflects that women are more energetic and enthusiastic for regular physical activities.

As seen in the graph, there are alot of young men who are working out more as compared to women from the age 15 to 24 but as soon as the age increases, we see that the percentage of men working out declines and percentage of women working out rises eventually.

Except the first age criteria, men are working out less than women and it concludes that women are more inclined towards taking care of their health rather than men but there must be more reasons for men not working out in a good percentage

For instance, men must be more busy than women as they need to work for daily living of their families and in most of the cases mostly men are working and earning for their families whereas women are not.
