overview, It is evident that after analyzing the bar graph, it can be seen clearly that In the younger age groups, men were more active only among those aged 15 to 24, with 52.8% participating in regular physical activity, compared with 47.7% of women. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task well. You have successfully identified the main trends and made relevant comparisons between genders across the age groups. The data is accurately reported, and the inclusion of specific percentages provides good support for your observations. However, the 'overview' section is slightly weak; it is embedded within the first paragraph rather than being a distinct, clear summary of the main trends. To reach a higher band, ensure the overview highlights the most significant overall patterns (such as the general trend of women being more active in most age groups) more explicitly and separately from the detailed data analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized, moving systematically through the age groups. Paragraphing is used to separate the introduction/overview from the body of the analysis. Cohesive devices such as 'however', 'whereas', and 'a similar pattern' are used effectively to link ideas. However, the transition between the introduction and the body is slightly abrupt due to the phrasing 'overview, It is evident that...'. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that the overview is clearly demarcated would enhance the overall coherence. The progression of information is clear and easy to follow throughout the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'participating', 'recorded', and 'identical' appropriately. There are some minor issues with word choice and phrasing, such as 'follow daily workout' (which is not a natural collocation for 'regular physical activity') and 'in variety of age groups' (missing an article). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. Expanding your repertoire to include more varied reporting verbs and precise descriptors for data trends would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as the missing article in 'in variety of age groups' and the awkward phrasing in the opening sentence. Punctuation is generally functional, though the capitalization of 'It' after 'overview,' is incorrect. While these errors do not impede communication, they are noticeable. To improve, focus on article usage and ensuring consistent sentence structure. The use of complex sentences is present, but more variety in subordinating conjunctions and relative clauses would demonstrate a stronger command of grammatical range.
