Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarise the data, but it fails to provide a clear or accurate overview. The information presented in the overview is confusing and contains inaccurate data points (e.g., stating 15-24 year-old males were 52.8% when the chart shows a different figure). While some main features are mentioned, the lack of clarity and the presence of factual errors mean the task is only partially addressed. The comparison between genders is attempted, but the lack of precise data reporting and the confusing structure prevent a clear summary of the main trends. To improve, ensure that data points are accurately transcribed and that the overview highlights the most significant trends rather than listing isolated, incorrect figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into sections, but the internal logic is weak. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often inaccurate, such as the phrase 'in terms males' or 'as compares to'. Paragraphing is present, but the content within the paragraphs is disjointed and lacks a logical flow. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between age groups and genders. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'whereas', 'in contrast', 'similarly') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that contributes to the overall progression of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'least number of exercises' instead of 'lowest participation rate' and 'all time highest ranking' which is not appropriate for describing statistical data. The phrasing is often unnatural, which hinders the clarity of the report. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to charts and graphs, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'fluctuate', 'remain stable', and 'significant difference'. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives and adverbs will also help you describe the data more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'women are more active as compares to male'), incorrect preposition use, and sentence fragments. The structure of sentences is often simplistic or convoluted, making it difficult to identify the intended meaning. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors in basic grammar (such as pluralization and verb tense) are persistent throughout the text. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the accuracy and readability of your writing.
