Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but struggles to present a clear overview. While it identifies some trends, the description of the data is often confusing and inaccurate. For instance, the statement that 'male percentage is very high but some time male percentage is decrease' is vague and lacks the precision required for Task 1. The report fails to highlight the most significant features or provide a meaningful comparison between the genders across the age groups. The data points mentioned are often difficult to follow, and the lack of a clear, logical structure makes it challenging for the reader to grasp the main trends presented in the bar chart.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often repetitive (e.g., 'male are decline', 'female are increase'). There is a lack of logical flow between sentences, making the information feel like a list of disconnected observations rather than a coherent summary. Referencing is often unclear, and the transition between different age groups is abrupt. To improve, you should use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear focus, such as grouping similar trends together rather than jumping between genders and age groups randomly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic verbs like 'increase' and 'decrease' and often use them incorrectly in terms of grammar (e.g., 'female are increase'). There is a lack of variety in describing trends, such as using words like 'fluctuate,' 'peak,' or 'remain stable.' Furthermore, the phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'at point of 50.8' or 'last second female percentage.' To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data interpretation and ensure that your word choices are grammatically appropriate for the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'female are decline' instead of 'female participation declined') and article usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple and repetitive, with very few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many sentences starting with lowercase letters. The errors are pervasive and often make the meaning of your sentences unclear. Focusing on basic sentence construction, specifically the correct use of verbs and prepositions, will be essential for improving your score in this area.
