Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified some key features of the chart, the analysis is incomplete. You have not covered all age groups or provided a comprehensive comparison between genders across the entire dataset. The summary is underdeveloped, and the lack of sufficient length prevents a full exploration of the data. To improve, ensure you describe all categories presented in the chart and provide a more detailed overview of the trends, ensuring you meet the minimum word count to allow for full task completion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into short paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is somewhat mechanical. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moving ahead' and 'Moreover', the logical progression is hindered by the brevity of the text. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'old age group of both gender did physical activities with almost equal proportion', which lacks specific data points to support the claim effectively. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'did physical activity' are used repeatedly, which limits the range of your lexical resource. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as '52.5 percentile', where 'percent' would be the correct term. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use a wider variety of synonyms and more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'percentage', 'figure', or 'rate', and avoid repeating the same verb structures throughout the report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'majority of physical exercise done by the female as compare to male', which lacks articles and correct verb forms. Additionally, there are issues with punctuation and sentence fragments, such as 'Whereas, old age group of both gender did physical activities with almost equal proportion with 47%.' These errors occasionally impede the clarity of the information. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and the inclusion of necessary articles will help improve your grammatical accuracy.
