IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar graph illustrates the percentage of Australian males and females in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
As we can see in the bar graph that the percentages are given from 0% to 60% vertically and the age groups of different ages are given horizontally. The ages are from 15 to 65 and over and in all the age groups both men and women do regular physical activity. in all age groups the percentage changes for both men and women and now I will summarise the information.
THE AGE 15 TO 24:
In this age group men do more regular physical activity than women. The percentage for men is 52.8% and the percentage for women is 47.7%. It means that men do more physical activity than women.
THE AGE 25 TO 34:
The percentage in this group is totally different from the first age group. In this age group women win because the percentage for women's regular physical activity is 48.9% and percentage for men's regular physical activity is 48.9%.
As we go forward, the women win in all the age groups because their percentage of regular physical activity is quite higher than men.
