Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. Furthermore, the summary is incomplete; the description of the data is fragmented and stops abruptly in the final paragraph, leaving out key information from the chart. While there is an attempt to identify main features, the lack of completion and the failure to reach the required length mean the task is only partially addressed. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the chart are described and that you provide a full, cohesive summary that meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are disjointed and difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used ineffectively; for example, the phrase 'While, the noticeable group' is grammatically incorrect and does not serve as a proper transition. The final paragraph is incomplete, which breaks the flow of the text entirely. To improve, focus on using clear topic sentences for each paragraph and ensure that your ideas are linked logically using appropriate transition words like 'in contrast', 'furthermore', or 'consequently'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'everyday body workout' and 'middle aged peoples' are unnatural and do not reflect the academic tone required for Task 1. There is also confusion in word choice, such as 'long activity' and 'exact contrast'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the data precisely. To improve, focus on learning specific collocations related to data description, such as 'a significant proportion', 'a steady increase', or 'a downward trend', and avoid informal or non-standard phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('womens grows'), incorrect word forms ('aduls', 'peoples'), and awkward sentence structures that make the meaning unclear. The use of complex sentences is attempted but often results in errors, such as 'the first stage of females fell slightly by a few proportion'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures before attempting more complex ones. Pay close attention to pluralization, verb tenses, and the correct use of articles.
