The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates the proportion of Australian men and women in six age groups who participated in regular physical activity in 2010.

Overall, women were more physically active then in almost all age groups, with the only exception being those aged 15 to 24. Female participated remained fairly stable at around 50% across different ages.

Among people aged 15 to 24 , 52.8 of men exercised regularly, compared with 47.7% of women. However, in the 25 to 34 age group, female participated rose to 48.9%, exceeding the male figure of 42.2%. At the age of 35 to 44 the women were active at 52.5 % as compared with only 39.5% of men. Similarly women recorded higher rates in the 45 to 44 and 55 to 64 age groups, at 53.3% and 53% respectively, while the figure for men were 43.1% and 45.1%. In the oldest age group, participated was almost equal, with 46,7% of men engaging in regular physical activity.
