Student answer (Band 5.0)
The above chart shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010. At the age of 15 to 24 women were more active than men. Between 25 to 34 the women actively gradually decrease from 52.8% to 42.2 while men physically activness increases from 48.7 to 48.9. Same the women physically activity decreases with time from 25 to 64 it show that women become less active during this period of time and after 64 the maintain themselves to 46.7 while men activness increase with time in the age between 25 to 64 and after 64 their physical activity decreases. This show that women lose their physical fitness in the age between 24 to 64 . In my opinion this is because of the fact that women get involved in household chores raising kids giving her 100% to their family in which they lose themselves . They don’t get enough time to take care of themselves go to gym and maintain their physical fitness. In our generation women are not only housewives but an independent women who also work as well as lead their families. On the other hand when we talk about men physically activeness which increases with time mean that they take good care of themselves

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the requirements of an Academic Task 1 report. While you identify some trends, you include personal opinions and external speculation (e.g., 'In my opinion this is because of the fact that women get involved in household chores'), which is strictly prohibited in this task. An IELTS report must be objective and based solely on the data provided. You also struggle to accurately report the figures, often misinterpreting the trends shown in the chart. To improve, focus on describing the data objectively, highlighting the most significant differences and trends without attempting to explain the 'why' behind the statistics.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. It is written as a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. There is a lack of logical progression, and the use of cohesive devices is very limited. Phrases like 'Same the women' and 'This show that' are used incorrectly to link ideas, leading to confusion. To improve, you should organize your response into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and two body paragraphs detailing specific data points. Use linking words like 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' or 'Conversely' to connect your sentences more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'women actively gradually decrease' (should be 'women's activity gradually decreases') and 'men physically activness' (should be 'men's physical activity'). You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use precise terminology to describe statistical trends. To reach a higher band, you need to learn how to use nouns and adjectives correctly to describe data (e.g., 'a significant decline,' 'a steady increase') and avoid informal or repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the response, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('This show that'), pluralization, and missing articles. Sentence structures are often awkward or incomplete, which occasionally impedes the reader's understanding. For example, 'after 64 the maintain themselves to 46.7' is grammatically incorrect and unclear. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the correct use of possessives (e.g., 'women's activity' instead of 'women activity').
