The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The bar chart illustrates the comparison of the number of men and women in Australia who were involved in physical activity in 2010.
Overall, in 2010, women of all age group were more physically active than male expect women whose age were between 15 to 24 years.
Looking at the details, womens whose age was between 45 to 54 were at the top of the char as it recorded 53.3% follwed by, 55 to 64 years age group women with 53%. Furthermore, more than half number of women around 52.5% were active physically in 2010 with the age group of 35 to 44. On the other hand, women with the age group of 15 to 24, 25 to 34 and 65 and over were the least to participate in physically activity with 47.7%, 48.9% and 47.1% respectively.
Additionally, mens whose age group was 15 to 24 participated the most in physical activity as it stood at 52.8% after elderly mens whose age group was 65 and over with 46.7%. Conversely, mens whose age group was 35 to 44 shared the lowest percentage of men with only 39.5%. Beside this, the percentage of men whose age was 25 to 34, 45 to 54 and 55 to 64 were lower than men as it accounted for 42.2%, 43.1% and 45.1% respectively.
