The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given chart illustrates the proportion of men and women in different age groups who did physical activity regularly in Australia in 2010.

Overall, it is clear that in contrast to men, the majority of women preferred to do physical tasks regualary and the age group of women from 45 to 54 mostly did excercise.

It had been seen that from the age of 15 to 24, 52.8% males did physical activity but females are less in number 47.7%. In contrast, to 25 to 34 age group the proportion of women who did physical work increased to 48.9% but the average of males declined to 42.2%.

The three different age groups of males and females from 35 to 64, the proportion of women who did physical exercise steadily grow to more than 52% and the percentage of males were 39.5%, 43.1% and 45.1%. Furthermore, the age group of 65 and over the proportions of males and females who did physical tasks were almost the same 46.7%.
