IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The men are more active in the age group of 15 to 24 and then there is a steep decline in the physical activities of men upto the age group of 44 and then the physical activies of men again shows a gradual increase upto the age of 65. The peak physical activity shown by men is 52.8 in the age group of 15 to 24 while the lowest physical acitivty among men is in the age group of 35 to 44.

The physical activity of women shows a gradual increase from the age group of 15 to 24 and are at their peak 53.3% in the age group of 45 to 54.

Overall the phyical activity in men decrease gradually with age while in women it generally remains the same.

Both men and women generally have the same physical activity in the age group of 65 and over. The peak physical activities of both men and women is generally the same but in a different age group i.e the peak activity by men in the age group of 15 to 24 while that of women in the age group of 45 to 54
