The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chart illustrates the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who are engaged in physical activities regularly in 2010.
Overall, female resident of every age group except 15 to 24 overtake the male resident in regular physical activities although the percentage seem silimilar in age group 64 and over.
In the youngest group 52.8% boys were involved in physical activities. With the increase in age the percentage decreased with some fluctuation and overshadow by the female proportion. The largest age group of men who did regular physical activities were the age of 15 to 24 whereas 35 to 44 is the lowest.
In contrast, the percentage of female who were engaged in physical activities shows growth in each age group. Although the percentage was lowest in 65 and over, it was higher than the male proportion by nearly 1%.
