The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar chart depicts the percentage of regular physical activity performed by men and women of different age groups in asutralia in the year 2010.

Overall the highest physical activity done by males is for the age group 15-24 years at 52.8 % whereas for females aged 45-54 years stood the overall highest at 53.3%.

For men the lowest physical acitivity done was for age group 35- 44 years which is jsut 39.5% in comparison to the age group 15-24 years which has the highest percentage of men at 52.8%.

In addition to that women showed a gradual increase in physical activity from 47.7% in age group 15-24 to 48.9%, 52.5%, 53.3% for age 25-34, 35-44, 45-54 respectively. There was a slight decline in physical acitivity to 53% for females aged 55-64 wheras for age 65 and over, the percentage of men and female performing physical activity is almost equal.
