The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar graph illustrates information regarding the percentage of Australian men and women in six different age groups who participated in regular physical activity in 2010.

Overall, it is noticeable that women were more physically active than men in almost all age groups, with the exception of youngest age group.The highest proportion of women exercising regularly was recorded as 45-54-year-olds, while the figure for men was highest among 15-24-year-olds.

Turning to the details, among people aged 15-24, 52.8% of men participate in regular physical activity, compared with 47.7% of women. However, this pattern changed in the 25-34 age group, where the proportion of active men fell to 42.2%, while the figure for women rose slightly to 48.9%. The gap became considerably wider among those aged 35-44, with only 39.5% of men exercising regularly compared with 52.5% of women.

Furthermore, for the 45-54 and 55-64 age groups women's participation remained relatively stable, at 53.3% and 53%, respectively. In contrast, the figures for men were lower, at 43.1% and 45.1%. Among people aged 65 and over, the two figures were almost identical, with 46.7% of men and 47.1% of women engaging in regular physical activity.
