The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graph compares the proportion of men and women in Australia doing physical activity regularly in six age categories, in 2010

Overall, majority of proportion involved in physical activity were females as compared to men. However,in age category 15 to 24, the amount of men surpassed females.

Around 52.8% men in age category 15 to 24, took part in physical activity compared to female percentage at 47.7. Whereas, age category 35-54, proportion of men reached its lowest at just 39.5 % while females stood at 52.5 %.

The age categories where females proportion remained above 50 were 35-44, 45 to 54 and 55-64, with highest proportion in age category 45 to 54 at 53.3 percent. Nearly, equal proportion of men and women were taking part in physical activity in age bracket 65 and over.
