Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chart gives information about regular physical movements done by the Australian males and females with various ages in 2010. Units are measured in percentage.
Overall, the highest proportion of females with age 45 to 54 was actively involved in body movement which is around 53.3% as compared to the males of age 15 to 24 were on the lower side with 52.8%. Women were more active than men in 2010.
Women with age 35 to 64 were involved in doing far more body movements than men of these ages which shows us that womens were likely doing more work which might helped them to get less stress more fresh mind etc.
Men with age 15 to 24 were highest in the percentage of actinvity

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response covers some basic information from the chart, such as mentioning the highest percentages and making general comparisons between men and women. However, the overview is weak, focusing on specific data points rather than broad trends, and the last paragraph introduces irrelevant speculation about stress and fresh minds, which is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 response. Furthermore, the response is under-length at 126 words, failing to meet the 150-word minimum requirement. This negatively impacts the overall task completion and development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text is divided into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is disrupted by weak transitions and the inclusion of personal opinions instead of data summarisation. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes repetitive. While referencing is generally understandable, the overall arrangement lacks the smooth flow and coherent structure expected in an academic summary, resulting in a somewhat disjointed reading experience.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with phrases like 'regular physical movements', 'body movement', and 'actinvity' (a spelling error). There are noticeable limitations in lexical range and collocation. While the reader can generally follow the intended meaning, the inappropriate choice of words for an academic report and the lack of less common lexical items prevent the response from achieving a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'females with age 45 to 54 was actively involved' (subject-verb agreement), 'womens were likely doing more work which might helped them' (double marking and tense error), and spelling mistakes like 'actinvity'. These errors sometimes cause minor difficulty for the reader.
