The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The bar chart illustrates the proportion of male and female of Australia, who involved in daily physical activity in year 2010 of various age groups.

Overall, Australian females showed more interest than mens in every age group and the data was bit fluctuated.

Australian males showed dominance during age of 15 to 24 with almost 52.8% involvement in regular physical activities while, females reported 47.7% for the same. However, mens took part in activities mentioned 43.1% at the age of 45 to 54 followed by least contribution(39.5%) during whole year at the age of 35 to 44, then rose gradually and reached at 46.7% at age of 65 or more.

In 2010, females activists reported lagging behind males during age of 15 to 24; nevertheless, rose gradually and peaked at the age of 45 to 54 with 53.3% involvement in physical activities. Then reported a slightly declined with 47.1 % at the age of 65 or more .
