Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address the task by discussing various age groups from the chart, such as the 15 to 24 and 65 and over categories. However, the data reporting is frequently inaccurate and confused. For example, the student states that for the 15 to 24 age group 'the man has a less ration than woman,' whereas the chart shows men at 52.8 percent and women at 47.7 percent. Furthermore, the descriptions of trends (such as 'drastical change' for ages 35 to 44) misinterpret the underlying data, and the overview lacks a clear summary of the overall patterns in physical activity between genders. Consequently, the response falls into Band 4.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks effective paragraphing and logical organisation. The text is presented in a fragmented manner with abrupt transitions between ideas, starting with a broken introductory clause in all-caps rather than a proper sentence. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, making it difficult to follow the progression of information. For instance, transitional phrases like 'HOWEVER IN THE END' do not successfully connect the concluding points to the preceding data analysis. Referencing is also unclear throughout the text. Overall, the structural and cohesive weaknesses place this response at Band 4.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent word-choice errors and non-standard collocations such as 'less ration than woman,' 'growth down,' and 'ages like fine wine,' which is inappropriate for an academic task report. Spelling mistakes and awkward phrasing, such as 'PHYISCAL ACTVITY' and 'COMPARITIVELY,' are present throughout the text. The lexical range is limited and inadequate for conveying precise statistical information, restricting the score to Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is extremely weak throughout the response. The opening statement is a fragment rather than a complete sentence ('THE GIVEN BAR CHART SHOWING...'). There are severe errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and clause structures, such as 'IN THIS CHART MEN AND WOMEN WHOM 15 TO 24 THR MAN HAS...' and 'THE PEOPLE BETWEEN 35 TO 44 THERE IS A DRASTICAL CHANGE.' Simple sentence structures are frequently faulty, and complex structures are attempted with a high frequency of errors that impede communication. This corresponds to Band 4.
