Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The given flowchart illustrates the how many men and women of different age groups did physical activity in 2010.
We can easily examine that womens ratio regarding exercise decreases according as they reached to the age of 44 and we can see the increment in the womens number after 44 and so on increasing even if they were over 65.In comparison to women , the ratio of mens increased as they reashed to 54 from the 15. We can noticably see the decline in the males percentage as they are getting older than the 54.
From the given data , we conclude that males still have the higher concentrations among all the age groups except 15-24. One significant thing is that the numbers of womens seeking for health increased after a certain age like after the age 44 and males ratio decreased after the certain age and that is 54.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The student attempts to report the main features of the chart, noting trends for men and women across different age groups. However, there are significant factual inaccuracies in the data reporting. For instance, the student states that males have higher concentrations among all age groups except 15-24, which directly contradicts the chart where women actually show higher participation rates in the 35-44, 45-54, and 55-64 age groups. Furthermore, the task is misidentified as a 'flowchart' in the opening sentence rather than a bar chart. While some comparisons are attempted, the inaccurate data extraction and failure to fully cover the prompt requirements pull the score down to Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response is structured into three brief paragraphs, attempting an introduction and body paragraphs. However, overall progression lacks clarity due to confusing transitions and poor referencing. Phrases like 'according as they reached' and 'and so on increasing' disrupt the flow of information. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, and the lack of a clear, overarching overview further impacts the organizational structure. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is faulty and repetitive, characteristic of a Band 5 performance.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is quite limited and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and collocation. Examples include 'womens ratio', 'the increment in the womens number', and 'numbers of womens seeking for health'. The inappropriate use of 'flowchart' instead of 'bar chart' also demonstrates lexical limitation. While the student attempts less common phrases, frequent errors in word formation and spelling ('reashed' for reached, 'noticably' for noticeably) strain the reader at times, placing the response firmly at Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of structures with frequent grammatical errors. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty and unnatural, such as 'We can easily examine that womens ratio regarding exercise decreases according as they reached to the age of 44'. Errors in tense usage, prepositions ('reached to', 'getting older than the 54'), and missing possessive apostrophes are persistent. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and reflect the Band 5 descriptor level.
