The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graphical representation illustrates the proportion of males and females in different age groups who participated in regular physical activity in Australia in 2010.

In the 15–24 age group, males had a higher rate of participation in physical activity, at 52.8%, compared with females. In contrast, among those aged 25–34, women participated in physical activities at a higher rate than men, at 48.9%. There was also a significant difference between the percentages of males and females who engaged in physical activity in the 45–54 age group.

Moving further, there was a difference of approximately 10 percentage points between males and females aged 45–54. In the 55–64 age group, the proportions of men and women who participated in physical activity stood at 45.1% and 53%, respectively. Finally, there was only a negligible difference between the two genders among people aged 65 and above.

Overall, males aged 15–24 had the highest rate of physical activity among men, while females aged 45–54 recorded the highest proportion among women in 2010.
